Great job Brion Butterbaugh!!

It’s Time To Party
King George’s Proclamation / said I’m placin’ / some taxation
On your tea
But the people didn’t buy it / they decided / they would fight it
And be free
They said this one here’s for old King George
As the tea was going overboard

They said
It’s time to party / stir it up / show the man what we’re made of
Yeah if we don’t make a stand / we’ll all be sorry
It’s time to party / ring the bell / wave the flag / and raise some hell
Yeah if we ain’t free / you tell me / what are we

Those politicians on my TV / never ask me / they just tax me
In the ground
And they’d like to take my Bible / and my rifle / Oh but I will
Not lay down
We gotta try to save it for our kids
Or they’ll never know what freedom is

It’s time to party / stir it up / show The Man what we’re made of
Yeah if we don’t make a stand / we’ll all be sorry
It’s time to party / ring the bell / wave the flag / and raise some hell
Yeah if we ain’t free / you tell me / what are we
It’s time to party

We believe in We the People / in Liberty and God we trust
You stand anywhere you want to / but if you try to tread on us
It’s time to party

It’s time to party / stir it up / show The Man what we’re made of
Yeah if we don’t make a stand / we’ll all be sorry
It’s time to party / ring the bell / wave the flag / and raise some hell
Yeah if we ain’t free / you tell me / what are we
It’s time to party
Yeah if we aint free / you tell me / what are we

Rangel Rule?? Anyone?

Posted by Kristen Hawley | Posted in Government | Posted on 29-08-2009

Nothing really amazes me with Rep. Charles Rangel so I didn’t even bat an eye when I heard that he "forgot" to pay some taxes. That was until I heard how much he “forgot” to pay.

Earlier this month the Chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee "amended" his 2007 financial disclosure form—to the tune of more than a half-million dollars in previously unreported assets and income. That number may be as high as $780,000, because Congress’s ethics rules only require the Members to report their finances within broad ranges. This voyage of personal financial discovery brings Mr. Rangel’s net worth for 2007 to somewhere between $1.028 million and $2.495 million, while his previous statement came in at $516,015 and $1.316 million.

Wow… Sometimes I’m just amazed by the arrogance our congressmen have. DUDE your the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee!!!

You would think that you might want to cross your t’s and dot your freakin’ i’s…  Especially since you also feel that it’s none of our "goddamned business" that your living the high life off on our buck!

Blaming the Republicans!

Posted by Kristen Hawley | Posted in Social Security & Health Care | Posted on 24-07-2009

Wanted to share an interesting finding by the Office of the Republican Whip.

This was taken from a transcript of “Obama Prime-Time News Conference”.

QUESTION: If you don’t get this, isn’t this a fight inside the Democratic Party and that Republicans really aren’t playing a — you can’t really blame the Republicans for this one?

OBAMA: Well, first of all, you haven’t seen me out there blaming the Republicans. I’ve been a little frustrated by some of the misinformation that’s been coming out of the Republicans, but that has to do with, as you pointed out, politics.

and then 18 hours later in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

You know, we had one Republican strategist who told his party that even though they may want to compromise, it’s better politics to “go for the kill.” Another Republican senator said that defeating health reform is about “breaking” me — when it’s really the American people who are being broken by rising health care costs and declining coverage. (Applause.) You know, the Republican — the Republican Party chair, seeking to stall our efforts, recently went so far as to say that health insurance reform was happening “too soon.”

Now, I have to tell you, I have to say, that folks have a lot of nerve who helped get us into this fiscal hole and then start going around trying to talk about fiscal responsibility. (Applause.) I’m always a little surprised that people don’t have a little more shame — (laughter) — about having created a mess and then try to point fingers, but that’s another topic. (Laughter.) Because the truth is, is that I am now President and I am — (applause) — and I am responsible, and together we have to restore a sense of responsibility in Washington.

hmm…. well that’s interesting!

I guess he is “out there blaming the Republicans”

Can we PLEASE start seeing through the BS, America??

Check out the video I made of the above quotes

$18 million to update a website??

Posted by Kristen Hawley | Posted in Budget Taxes & Economy | Posted on 09-07-2009

It was not bad enough that we were spending money on signs to advertise the stimulus project. Today we find out that we are going spend $18 million to give recovery.gov (the website) an update. Found at the Washington Examiner.

ABC reports this morning that the Maryland firm Smartronix has won what seems like an enormous $18 million contract to re-design the Recovery.gov website. Approximately $9.5 million would be spent by January in order to make “Recovery 2.0″ out of the site that is supposed to track the spending of federal stimulus funds in detail.

18 million dollars to update a damn website!!!

Oh and thats not the best part, the president and vice president of the Smartronix gave $19,000 to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer!!! Head over to the Washington Examiner for more information.
