Awesome Senator Award: Lamar Alexander

Posted by Kristen Hawley | Posted in Government | Posted on 11-06-2009

Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) gets the Awesome Senator Award for the month of June.

For two great reasons…

ONE: He has introduced legislation that would require the treasury to distribute stock in GM and Chrysler to the taxpayers. Its the Auto Stock for Every Taxpayer Act!!

Heritage

“Instead of the Treasury owning 60 percent of shares in the new GM and 8 percent of Chrysler, you would own them, if you were one of about 120 million individuals who paid taxes on April 15,” Alexander explained. “This is the fastest way to get the stock out of the hands of Washington and back into the hands of the American people in the marketplace where it belongs. The stock certificates would be in your name, not that of your government.”

TWO: He is giving out “Car Czar” Award’s! These awards are given to people “who distinguish themselves by making it harder for the auto companies your government owns to compete in the world market place”.

In a speech on the Senate floor he gave the first award to Barney Frank.  Check out  the video to see the speech.

Our Own Townhall Meetings

Posted by Kristen Hawley | Posted in Government | Posted on 01-05-2009

Some great Republicans have decided to beat the man at his own game!!

They will be scheduling their own Townhall meetings around the country. I think this is awesome. This is their way to start bringin’ back Conservatism.  Get out in the public and answer the questions. I also like that they are doing this on their own and not represent the RNC.

Fox reports

Top Republican officials and lawmakers plan to announce on Thursday a series of town hall-style meetings about their ideas for shaping the country. With the backing of the House and Senate GOP leaders, the new group will operate outside the Republican National Committee and highlight conservative policy ideas and draw contrasts with Democratic President Barack Obama

Thank You Congressman Mike Pence!

Its called principles!

I guess we can check Arlen Specter of this post !!

What is wrong with us Conservatives? Why would we ever be upset with Specter switching parties? Did you expect anything else?

I think this is a great beginning to changing Washington in 2010!  We need to support Pat Toomey.  And don’t forget we have Chris Simcox running against McCain. We must purge the GOP of all RINO’s one by one! We have 2010, 2012, and 2016… lets do it by then! Lets start holding are party accountable for their actions. Just maybe when the moderates see the changes we are making they will change their voting record.

I know what your saying, if we lose the seat its not going to matter who we picked as our “conservative”….. WRONG! It’s not going to matter when it comes to getting a bill stopped or passed. But it will matter… Its called principles!  We are the party of principles. We are the party of earning what you get and taking only what you earn. The party that teaches not to follow just because he is leading but to follow when they KNOW he is leading. Lets not contradict ourselves by voting only because we know he will keep the seat. Don’t let fear intimidate us into choosing a man/woman because we feel they will stop the democrats from a majority.

Hopefully, when our kids and grandkids read their history books hopefully, they will read how the generation before them cleaned house in the GOP. Hopefully, they will read that this generation did it with out gun powder and lead but with elections (and talk radio). Hopefully, they will read how we saved the Constitution and ultimately saved America!
